That makes sense! So there are about 48 episodes each year and that’s why everything they do seems to be "yearly", like the kiki series.

I never counted how many episodes are aired in the whole year
Some variety shows are the half-hour type with 23 to 25 minutes of footage(Gaki no tsukai)。
These have small number of regular members, and few semi-regulars.
Some are the hour-long type with 45 to 50 minutes of footage(Lincoln, Mechaike). These have a larger number of regular members, along with a host of semi-regulars for the various segments.
That sounds pretty reasonable for modern tv standards anyways!!

I’ve gotten to where I’ll watch anything that gets translated and posted on this fine site. It all started with the 24-hour endurance tag that a friend linked to me that was playing on justin.tv. Ever since then, if it gets posted, I download it. I have seen full weekends vanish while watching the Batsu games or having marathons of the Tasty or Kiki series. I only with I knew how to speak/read Japanese to I could watch more.
