Gamecenter CX: "Super Mario Maker" Playing Version

At the end of this episode, they announce that the next Live Challenge will be at the 12th of December to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the show. It will be a 2 hours challenge against Super Mario Maker again. From what i could understand with my very poor japanese they want viewers from all over the world to submit levels via web.
It looks like the Live will be shown at TV and streamed via Nico Nico and Youtube.

Kachou vs. the world!

About Mario Maker: anyone knows the codes to download the stages Arino did? Or at least the account he used for it?
And, in this other new video, Arino plays a Kacho stage and gets a Kacho custom avatar in game. Is it possible to play this stage somehow and to unlock that Kacho avatar, by any chance? Thank you

I did a write-up of episode 209

[hide:241ca19i]Gamecenter CX #209 Link's adventure Part 1

1/3

Arino announces a live broadcast on December 12 (without his usual ice cream). Today's challenge is Zelda 2, the adventures of Link on Famicom Disk System. Arino muses that it will be impossible to beat in one day. He has to beat 7 palaces to reach the ending screen.
The title screen appears, Arino jokes about how the sword is embedded at the very tip of the cliff. He tries to input "Kacholink" as his name but he comes up one character short. When he presses "start", the game tells him to switch to side B. "I did it, I'm already on side B."
The game starts at the palace containing only a sleeping Zelda. "It looks like the funeral scene from Takeshi no chousenjou". He ventures outside ("Don't I get any instructions?") and encounters some enemies. After a short walk, he comes across a cave entrance. But first he goes into the town of Rauru. The first woman he talks to says she knows nothing. "But what did I ask?". An old woman give him a hint, "Return the crystal to the palace, go north through the tunnel." Inside a house he meets a man ("Is it an enemy?") who tells him, "Gather 3 power levels and you'll get a new power." Arino then jokes about how the character should be good friends with Mitz Mangrove."They get along fashion wise."
He finds the woman in red who replenishes his health. And the wizard who gives him his first magic spell, shield. Arino is impressed by the animation of Link jumping down the steps. In another house, he meets a palette swap of the enemy-looking character he's met before. "He changed his clothes". "Scary". He is told to take the candle in Parapa palace and go west through the tunnel to reach the next palace. "Is he saying that I should bring him the candle?"
After writing down all the memos, he decides to go through the northern tunnel. He gets into a battle in a forest and levels up for the first time. All levels cost the same amount of experience points (unlike in the western versions). He levels up his attack.
The northern tunnel is a dark cave, but the single enemy is not much of a threat.

He arrives at Parapa palace and takes the manual elevator down. Arino jokes that the monsters hopping around look as if they only have one shoe on. He encounters a locked door and a red skeleton (stalfos) guarding a key. After taking the key Arino is killed before he can figure out how to defeat the stalfos. He restarts on the screen he died on. Now that he possesses a key he can open the locked door he saw earlier. He ventures into a new area. A stalfos next to an elevator kills him. "That guy is too strong!". After winning a rematch Arino levels up a second time. Again he chooses to level his attack. Next he finds a room with a fairy to replenish his health.
He suspects a mounted dragon's head on the wall will start breathing fire if he passes it. Nope. He encounters an enemy throwing hammers. After narrowly passing through the barrage of hammers, he is killed when he collides with the enemy. Game over.
Choosing continue starts him off at the palace where Zelda is sleeping. Furthermore, even though his attack was level 3, it's been reset. On the bright side, he keeps his items and spells. He goes back into Parapa palace. In a stroke of luck he finds a bag of experience points enabling him to level up twice in one go. His attack is now at 4. "I'm super strong!". Across the bridge of falling blocks, he is killed by a slime. "I stepped in slime!". In the end, he is killed once more by a stalfos. Game over. He restarts at Zelda's palace. Back to level 1!
Since AD Yanai has left the show to go work on a farm somewhere, it's up to AD Oosu to explain the leveling system to Arino.
When you get a game over, your attack, magic and life go back to the lowest level you possess. So of the three, the one that has the lowest numerical value. (This was changed in the western versions where you retain all your levels.)
Since all that Arino did was level up his attack, he has to start from scratch.
Oosu: "It's best to go for a balanced approach."
Arino: "But I only want to level up my sword."
Oosu: "A skilled person can progress far by only leveling up his sword.
Arino: "Yes, there are people like that. What a terrible thing to say to me!"

2/3

Time to go for a balanced approach. Arino manages to get his attack, magic, and life up to level 2. Inside Parapa palace, he collects an experience bag and levels up his attack to 3. Then a hammer throwing enemy kills him. Arino is victorious in his 3rd battle. He manages to kill the iron knuckle guarding this palace's item, the candle. Upon entering a room lined with curtains, Arino remarks, "Feels like a boss is coming up". The boss, Mazura, appears. A knight with the head of a horse wielding a club. "Looks like a giraffe". No, it's a horse.
Before starting the boss fight, Arino wants to refill his health so he backtracks to the fairy room. Unfortunately the fairy is nowhere to be found. "I can't get my life up". While looking around the palace in search of health, he is killed once more.
He arrives at the last part before the boss with full health but the orange iron knuckles there put up a hard fight. With little life left he faces the boss. His attacks all miss as he is killed in one hit.
On his next attempt he starts the fight with full health. After aggressively stabbing the head, the boss is quickly killed. Level up time! "What do I do? I want to raise my attack". "A skilled person could probably do it but, but, but… Attack it is!"
He walks into the next room ("That statue is kind of obscene.") and returns the crystal to the palace, which gives him another level up. "What do I do? I want to only level up my attack." "I'll do it, attack!". "After this I'm only going to level my magic and life."
He soon finds out that he now needs 700xp to reach the next level. "I might have made a mistake!". A little panicked, he decides to look for a heart container somewhere to the south of Parapa palace. He arrives at a section with rising bubbles and pits. A bubble hits him and he is knocked of the pedestal. Instant death and game over. Which means,… every stat is back to level 2.
After setting out again, Arino finds the sought after heart container and a yellow boomerang throwing enemy. "It's Winnie the Pooh!". Following a hint he received earlier on, he goes to find the western tunnel. On the way he walks into the town of Ruto. "I can get magic here." He manages to find a jar to extend his magic meter and learns the jump spell from the wizard.
Traveling farther south, he enters a cave. The cramped spaces make it hard to defeat the boomerang throwing enemies and he suffers repeated game overs. "I've reached my limit". His only option is backtracking to refill his health in the town. "I'm sorry if the episode ends like this."
Finally he makes it through the cave and arrives at a new town, the water town of Saria. He hears about the holy glove located in Midoronuma palace. From the wizard he learns the vital Life spell. He continues his level grinding exercise and gets all his stats up to 3.

Time to tackle the 2nd palace. The enemies prove challenging. In the end a red iron knuckle kills him. Back to the start. "Should I try to get to level 4?" He imagines the princess saying, "Are you back here again? I wonder if I can just bring myself back to life."
20 minutes later he faces the dreaded red iron knuckle again. Making clever use of the steps at the beginning of the room, he is able to dispatch of the iron knuckle. When Arino sees that enemies can walk freely through doors he is in disbelief. "You can't do that!" He picks up the glove which grants him the ability to break blocks.
In a new area he encounters the iron knuckle again. He has little health and there are no steps to save him now. Without being able to do much damage, he is killed again. Back to the start. "Is she writing an email on her smartphone?"
On his next trip to the palace he find a dangerously placed P-bag. Can he take it without falling into the lava? Nope. Back to the start. "Getting married seems pretty far off now doesn't it? "You were blinded by those experience points."
Continuous defeat ensues. Arino goes back to the menial task of grinding for levels. AD Oosu jumps in to tell Arino about a famous person who is referenced in the game. "Is it Sekine Mari?" In the town of Saria, if you go to the cemetery and talk to a woman in blue, she'll transform into a bat and tell you that "The hero Loto rests here." A reference to the first 3 dragon quest games.
"I feel like playing dragon quest, is it OK if I pause for a moment to play a little?"
Oosu: Pau–se?!
Going back to the game, Arino's grinding has paid off as he is now at level 4. He arrives at the last part of the 2nd palace. The boss appears. "It's not a horse." "He has a sword". The battle commences. When he knocks off the boss's helmet, it starts flying around the screen shooting projectiles. He is killed before he can do any real damage, partly because he forgot to use his shield spell.
In the next battle, his life is maxed and his shields are up. He confidently starts stabbing the boss in the face. Victory! "I did it!". The second palace is done.
Arino: "Which one should I level up, my life or my magic?"
Staff: "Life please!"
Arino: "No life!"
5 palaces remain.

3/3

Now at level 5, Arino finds a way to extend the bridge in order to cross Saria town. "It's super short, couldn't I have swum to the other side?" He arrives at a labyrinth of caves. There he finds the hammer ("Or is it an arrow?"). He uses the hammer to destroy a boulder on the map and falls into a cave which contains a jar of magic and a heart container.
In the harbor town of Mido, the wizard grants him fairy magic and the knight teaches him the down-stab technique. Furthermore he learns that Error of Ruto knows about the 3rd palace. When asked, Error tells him that there's a hole south of the king's grave. He finds it easily enough. Inside, a tall cliff blocks his way to the right. The jump spell falls short. After a moment of contemplation, he has a realization. Of course he must use the recently acquired fairy spell. He emerges on a small Island.

3rd palace, God's Island. There are spiked slime enemies that can only be killed by using down-stab. Arino practices his technique but gets himself killed in the process. The powerful blue iron knuckles are particularly difficult since down-stab is useless against them. He finds the palace's item, the raft, and makes his way to the boss room. But with no magic and no life left it's not looking promising. The boss room appears empty. "There's no one here." Then, out of nowhere, a mounted knight runs him over and kills him in one hit. "He has a horse!?" "I've been walking everywhere this whole time."
15 minutes later he makes it back to the boss. He tries to jump and stab but can't seem to land a hit. Then he tries to attack the boss from behind by jumping over him and stabbing him before he can turn around. It's not an effective strategy as Arino dies before he can do much damage.
In the 6th battle something unexpected happens. As soon as the boss' health goes below half, he dismounts, turning him into a regular blue iron knuckle WITH a full health bar. Arino is confused for a moment as the horse runs off the screen. The boss starts throwing projectiles which Arino can't evade. Game over. "He jumped off his horse."
To get properly motivated, Arino pulls out a "it looks like I" can from his pocket. The 7th battle is an intense one as he manages to get the boss down to 2 health points before Arino forces him off the screen. "I can't see him!". With only a sliver of life left Arino takes a few steps back to allow the boss to come on screen again. Unfortunately he is quickly killed by the projectiles the boss shoots at him. "Such a pity", "But it feels like I can do it".
The next few attempts are all failures. It's not until the 13th battle that Arino remembers the down-stab sword technique. It proves incredibly effective. He gets to the "real" battle in no time with most of his life intact. Taking care not to push the boss of the screen, Arino nimbly blocks the projectiles and steadily lands hit after hit. With only one bar of life left Arino lands the final blow. 3rd palace finished.
AD Oosu brings out the clock. Turns out it's already 10:30pm. He's been at it for more than 12 hours. AD oosu says it will be difficult to clear the game even in 2 days. He advises Arino to take the game home with him and raise his levels. "You mean do all the grunt work? "It's not even going to be on TV!"[/hide:241ca19i]
