No the instructions are pretty straightforward (cheers for google translate!), the videos are just private. Not password locked as far as I can see, just require you to befriend the uploader.

Just a tip about downloading from Youku after everything became "Mainland China Only". I was using WantYoutube + JDownloader but recently WantYoutube has been failing for me sometimes (might be my browser and the Java). Basically:

The speed is slow for me but if you right click on the package heading in the Download tab and select "Force Download" it’ll initialize all segments at once. This way at least all the parts can download at the same time making it quicker. After that you can use Andy’s FLV Joiner to join the parts into 1 video.

All the recent changes to Youtube seems to of made it so many software/sites like JDownloader, KeepVid etc. can’t grab higher quality than 360p. I think I read its due to them splitting higher res videos up. Hopefully they can update to work with Youtube’s new system.
For now I’ve had to get a different program called FreeMake Video Downloader

Make sure you just install the Freemake software and its browser addon since I don’t know if the rest is malware. Anyway it seems to work well, but it’s a real resource hog when videos get to 100% downloaded, I guess its merging the video. Bit of a pain when you want to download a ton of HQ videos.
So yeah it works OK for now, but hopefully other software finds a way to work again with less resource hogging.
If you update Jdownloader, the problem with download Youtube videos is fixed now. You can download again videos in High Quality

Hm I’m using JDownloader 2 Beta, it updated and it’ll download Youtube videos but not 480 - 1080p. I think JDownloader team have only fixed it so you can download standard Youtube videos.
There’s a thread on the JDownloader forum discussing it and recently the staff reccomended people use other software like Freemake until they can fix it.

For downloading videos from Youtube, Nicovideo, FC2 Video and other popular video sites , I personally find Houlo Video Downloader better because it allows you to convert videos to lots of formats.

I tried DownloadHelper extension, but it seems that the videos are stored as 10m chunks, so you can download the first 10 minutes and I suppose that if you move the cursor past the 10m mark you should get a link for the next 10m
But the download is sloooooooooow and having to download it like this seems awful.

I see, yeah it does seem like a bit of an annoying site. Just a shame FC2 deletes content so fast, sometimes this MioMio site is the only place left with an intact upload because its not popular enough to be targeted yet

Nope. Captures the flv or mp4 from the site. I just downloaded a few videos from your MioMio. You just need to turn "on" the catcher and then open the video…I’m not even pressing "play" and the catcher shows me the video and the options for download and convert if I want to.
Ohh that sounds perfect then. I’ll definitely try that, especially as I find it difficult to even play most the videos on this junky site heh. Will shoot you a PM.
