In the first one, when he says the log looks like it’s made from puff pastry, he actually says "hatoshirol" (ハトシロル)
which is a snack, with shrimp filling (not 100% sure on that) Anyway, it looks like this:

As for the "Downtown with the Funkey Beans", I’m not sure if Peanuts is called like that or not in japan,
but it’s clearly the Peanuts comic style of drawing. Which is amazing.

Peanuts are considered to be beans in Japan. Apparently they actually are beans and not real nuts. The more you know!
