Mecha-Ike MegaThread

I knew something about Kato and Watanabe Mayu…Since then, it became a special gag between those two :D :D

Seems like the Fuji TV Poilce was made either in the late 90’s or mid-2000’s.

Are there any footage from the controversies you mentioned earlier? When it comes to TV controversies (doesn’t matter what TV Show is) I get very curious :D

There are some articles that did cover these controversies:
Yamamoto’s scandal, which happened back in 2006: [url:ef5p0oyh]http://www.tokyograph.com/news/keiichi-yamamoto-caught-in-rape-scandal/[/url:ef5p0oyh]
Kato’s controversy, with a picture included: [url:ef5p0oyh]http://majide2ch.blogspot.com/2013/09/koji-katos-kick-to-mayu-watanabe-to-be.html[/url:ef5p0oyh]
Obokata controversy (Japanese article, but basically details the backlash that Mechaike got): [url:ef5p0oyh]http://www.cyzo.com/2014/05/post_17016.html[/url:ef5p0oyh]

This is the Obokata parody episode in question, though I haven’t watched it yet. Apparently there was an uproar and they threatened to pull it off the air: [url:ef5p0oyh]http://www.miomio.tv/watch/cc67694/[/url:ef5p0oyh]

It is strange though that ‘London Hearts’ actually included a few Obokata jokes in one of their recent specials and they got good TV ratings there. It got 14.5% while Mechaike got only 6.4% so I really don’t know what happened there: [url:ef5p0oyh]http://www.nikkansports.com/entertainment/news/f-et-tp0-20140507-1297144.html[/url:ef5p0oyh]

I opened the link of the Haruko Obokata parody and with the ‘‘help’’ of Google Translate I saw that there was an event where many people got poisoned by curry in 1998. The case is called ‘‘Wakayama Curry-Poisoning Case’’ or ‘‘和歌山毒物カレー事件’’. Is this what Obokata said about the STAP cells on the curry?

I’m being somewhat annoying to you Vatican, I know, but do you know where can I read more about the poisoning case?

These incidents have nothing to do with each other so I apologise for confusing you. What Obokata did was that she claimed that she had found the existence of STAP cells (stimulated stem cells) but after other scientists tried to replicate these experiments and failed to get results, they suspected that she had made up her data to get results. Her employer eventually charged her and found her guilty on two counts of falsifying data. Here’s a wikipedia article on the incident: [url:3jdf48bz]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stimulus-triggered_acquisition_of_pluripotency_cell#Investigation_into_disputed_claims[/url:3jdf48bz]

As a bonus for annoying me, here’s a collection of stuff on the Wakayama poisoning case :D : [url:3jdf48bz]http://murderpedia.org/female.H/h/hayashi-masumi.htm[/url:3jdf48bz]

Wow [b:31jtompt]Vatican[/b:31jtompt], you really know how to use Google
Tough the article mentioned the Wakayama poisoning instead of the Obokata one, so that’s where thing got crazy :D

One controversy was the basketball incident during Fuji TV’s 27 hour program a few years ago. Jaru-jaru’s Fukutoku got some flak for it online. Viewers felt the scene was like bullying and was concerned that youngsters might try to copy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUv2Ztuzv-o

It was supposed to be a skit in which Nakai and Fukutoku were playing without passing to Okamura. He asks for the ball and they pass to him but he is unable to score. In the end, they start throwing basketballs at him. But seems like the skit went wrong somehow causing viewers to feel that way. Normally, Yabe will step in, but at that time, he was running the 100km marathon.

The most recent controversy is that a member of AKB48 got injured rehearsing for this week’s female wrestling episode.

I didn’t knew the AKB member got injured because the wreslting fight looked staged and under control. Probably everyone participating got pumped they actually strated to fight like a real match.

I coudn’t imagine if youngsters attempted to do the same thing like in the skit, it could cost a fortune to Fuji TV because of ‘‘promoting bullying’’ and stuff like that.

Yeah, most of it was rehearsed.
The girl who was injured got her injury during the rehearsal so she did not participate in the actual episode

I wonder how she got the injury :^)

It would be awesome if someone subbed the Oshima Yuko special.I know that maybe you’re going to tell me "well, do it yourself its not easy" and I already know that and trust me if I knew japanese even the basics to translate I would gladly do it(the only thing I know is the "alphabet" but not all i still struggle in recognizing some of the hiraganas and all katakanas and obviously all the kanjis xD). I saw it raw and it was hilarious even though I didn’t understand anything of it lol.

Nobody is going to tell you that my friend :) I would like to see this subbed too, but we just have to wait. She is an idol, so I’m sure that someone is going to sub this. When I get the subbed episode, I’ll post it here

Episodes with idols have higher chance of being subbed

According to the news article, she was attempting a technique. Maybe she fell wrongly?

Seems more like it. Though I wonder what technique she wanted to pull off without any luck. :^)

Watch the Wrestling episode that master [b:1b1ndl34]ErnieYoung[/b:1b1ndl34] post and give yourself an idea pal

I’ve already saw it, friend
Though I only saw the part of the AKB vs. the other woman which I honestly don’t know who they are

They are part of the Mecha-Ike staff :D :D :D

That’s why I knew they weren’t popular to be known :D
