Jdorama

@Kawaii_endo
How come you can’t download torrents? You are missing out on a lot of good, high quality doramas…
Glad to hear you like Rookies - I can’t really remember much from it since it was one of the first I saw.

ChiakiLOVE@
Newer doramas I’ve enjoyed: (Haven’t seen any from 2010 yet, so all these are from 2009)
Shiroi Haru (White Spring) - Family/drama
Tokyo DOGS - Police
MR. BRAIN - Comedy/mystery
Saru Lock - Comedy

And one more thing - to keep track of all my doramas I rate them on www.Jdorama.com. You Should check out the site:)
It’ll help you to remember older doramas you’ve watched, but it’ll also help you decide which doramas to avoid and which to watch by looking at how other people have rated it.

I will check those out.

I see lots of love for Nobuta in the thread, I actually didn’t really like it that much. Though I did think Yamashita did a good job in his weird role.

Just finished Code Blue. Not really my kind of dorama. Never really got connected with the lead actors - felt like there was missing some background story about them.
Yamapi’s grumpiness gets a little annoying too. It worked great in the dorama Kurosagi, but just not in this one.

Started watching GTO for the 4th time :P

After that I’ll probably watch Anata no Tonari ni Dareka Iru[/url:2j5cjt2b]
50% because it looks good
50% because of the theme songs :P

Currently watching Mr. Brain. Now on episode 3… Loving it! :)

Gokusen 1/2/3, Bloody Monday, My Boss My Hero, Life…

Just finished [i:24078b6j]Anata no Tonari ni Dareka Iru[/url:24078b6j][/i:24078b6j]

Very exiting dorama with lots of twist and turns in the plot. One of the best thriller/suspend doramas I’ve seen for a long time. The action scene were very well made and there’s something going on all the time. Kitamura Kazuki does a great job as Shunsuke who’s a man with eternal life who keeps haunting the Matsumoto family. He’s really scary - especially with those contact lenses.
They could maybe have given us a bit more background knowledge about each characters, but all in all it worked very good.

The soundtrack is superb “Arakure[/url:24078b6j]” by B’z is just perfect in this dorama.
Arakure translates to panic.

9/10 from me.

I’ll try that out Outlaw, thanks for the review!

Just finished the dorama Dream Again[/url:1djvho6c] with my favorite actor Sorimachi Takashi[/url:1djvho6c]. Here’s a review as I wrote it on Jdorama.com

[quote:1djvho6c]"Took me a long time to finally get started with this dorama. It wasn’t because I didn’t want to see it, but because I was afraid that it was just more or less a remake of Wonderful Life (Which I loved!). But I was wrong - the 2 doramas are very different. Sorimachi is a great actor as always and Kato Ai and Shida Mirai do a great job too. The story is quite different from anything I’ve seen before, the pace is good and it’s interesting through the whole dorama.

I can’t help comparing Wonderful Life[/url:1djvho6c] and Dream Again in my head since they both are with Sorimachi and they’re both about baseball. I’m gonna have to say that this one’s good, but Wonderful Life is just a bit better."[/quote:1djvho6c]

On Jdorama.com I’ve given Dream Again 8/10 and Wonderful Life 10/10 :)

I finally got around to watch Q.E.D a short drama that ran on NHK in the beginning of 2009. It’s a bout 2 high school kids who solve mysteries and criminal cases. Bit cheesy and probably makes you laugh but it was quite interesting.

I’ve actually just been getting into J-dramas

Here are my favs so far

Trick - Magician Girl turned mystery solver (very funny, excellent cast)

Gokusen - Young idealistic teacher stuck in a misfit school … what the students dont know is that she’s heir to be the next Oedo family Yakuza boss. (funny, good cast and i have to admit … i almost cried at some points)

Enka no Joou - 39 year old unsuccessful enka (old style japanese music often referred to as “the japanese blues”) singer has problems with men and money. (very funny, cool music, good cast) - i can seed if anyone is interested.

Enka no Joou sounds interesting. Think I’m gonna download it. Harada Taizo is one of my favorite comedians, so this dorama must be good:)

I’m a big jdorama fan, i follow most of the dramas every season. Right now im enjoying Mioka, toubou bengoshi, Gold … and others.

Haven’t seen Byakuyakou, but I’ve seen Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu which is with exactly the same cast and crew. Didn’t like it that much… Or well it was pretty good, but not as good as I’d hoped.
So is Byakuyakou much better or what would you say?

Haven’t seen Triangle either, but it sounds pretty good.

I promise you my friend, you will love byakuyakou. It’s one of the best dramas ever and everyone who ive introduced it to have thought the same! its also totally different from sekai no chuushin which is a slow human drama, byakuyakou is a suspensefull thriller with an amazing story.

Triangle is another masterpiece, amazing thriller full of mysteries and twists. You won’t be able to stop watching =)

So download the first eps of both of these dramas NOW and enjoy… you have agreat time ahead of you! Peace!

Oh man… i get shivers just to think about byakuyakou. It’s that good. :inlove:

Oh, cool. I’d just always though on it as being pretty much the same as Sekai Chuushin… I’m not much for romantic stories no matter how many stars they’ve gotten, but I love suspence and thriller doramas:)

Have you watched GTO? That’s my favorite dorama:P

While I’m at it I can also just as well do some reviews of my latests doramas:
First I watched Engine[/url:ll5hjafv] Which was much better than I’d thought. The dorama that Kimura Takuya’s stars in are usually about romance, but this one is totally different. He’s a race driver who after having left his team returns home to the foster home that his dad runs and each episode is centered around one of the children in the home.
Surprisingly good. Probably my favorite Kimura dorama. 9/10

Right now I’m watching the dorama Watashitachi no Kyokasho[/url:ll5hjafv] (Our textbook) which is more of a political, court room kinda dorama. Quite boring to be honest. Just watched episode 8 today and I am going to watch the last 4, but I wouldn’t recommend this dorama. I’ll give it 5/10 now… let’s see if that changes when I’ve seen it to the end.

Hello.
Being a big fan of J drama’s for the past 5 years. Big fan of the NHK Taiga Drama’s. Taiga Dramas are 49 episode’s long and tell the story’s of some of the hero’s of the Sengoku era.

If you have never watch one before, I would start with Toshiie and Matsu. Also worth watching Furin Kazan and Yoshitsune.

My top modern dramas are.
1 Hana Yori Dango
2 Trick
3 Densha Otoko
4 Nodame Cantabile
5 My Boss My Hero
6 GTO
7 Gokusen
8 Tokkyu Tanaka 3 Go
9 Yasuko to Kenji
10 Waterboys

I am watching HAMMER SESSION!!, Gekeppuchi no Eri, And Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku at the moment.

same here! also watching Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo and Unubore Keiji, with Nagase Tomoya and Ikuta Toma in it, surely I would be rofl… lol

@dannemanen: Byakuyakou sounds very interesting… adding up to my list!

@Outlaws: I love the kids in Engine… like how they call Kanzaki Jiro (Kimura Takuya) with just his first name and without the honorific, and of course, their acting as well… one japanese sentence i picked up from the dorama, “boku wa… kawaii-so janai” hahaha, i don’t know if you remember from which episode it was…

nope, sorry. can’t remember :)
Was it one of the kids who said that?

'ello again.

I’m still addicted to a couple of chinese/taiwanese doramas, one of them is Prince of Tennis, 2nd season.

However, I find chinese comedies a bit overly dramatic and somehow affected. They’re enjoyable and cute, but sometimes cheesy.

Sekachu was a perfect dorama for me. It follows different lines from the book, but it’s great overall. Good acting, terrific photography, and based in a huge best-seller. I will surely try Byakuyakou.

A huge disappointment is the Chakushin ari (One missed call) dorama. Not scary at all, and with quite a bunch of freak characters that wanted to be funny. I’d prefer the films (even the third one :scared: ).

Atashinchi no danshi was great. A bit dull on its way, but I found it really addictive. Some of their characters remained together in several doramas. I think the last one is called “Tumbling”, based on a university gymnastics team. Did you heard something about it?

I also want to find a dorama but I can’t remember the title. High School. A clumsy smart4ss kid who has no success with girls and sleeps in class. In dreams, he’s in medieval Japan, about Sengoku era in several missions. It was pretty entertaining, but I forgot the title reference. Can you help me?

Thnx in advance ;)

I think the show you are looking for is, Samurai High School!
