Alternatively you can make video clips from a recording on your PC using video editing software. When you've found the start of a bit you want to highlight click the red "[A" button. Keep scanning forward until you get to the end of the highlight and press the "B]" button. You can click on a frame or hit the < and > buttons to look through and hit Remove to delete unecessary frames e.g.they're just standing around at the start doing nothing. For best results for filesize I think keeping it under 60 total frames is best, preferably 40~50.[/2g6650ws]
[:2g6650ws] Unless I want a slow motion effect or speed up I keep the Play Speed "same as source". I also change Color Matching to "Excellent", this makes the fileseize larger but so long as you don't have too many frames and crop it down it should be OK.[/2g6650ws][/list:u:2g6650ws]

You'll want the width to be max 500px if it's a single GIF. If it's a sequence of GIFs then they'll need to be max 245px each. Here's an image explaining:

For filesize keep the 500px ones under 1mb by cropping down the height as much as possible. The smaller 245px ones can go up to 2mb, I usually make them around 180~190px high.

Note: Tumblr only counts the first 5 tags for the site search, so use them for key words like gaki no tsukai, sims 4, sims and maybe the names of whoever is the main focus of the GIF e.g. matsumoto hitoshi, tanaka naoki. Any tags beyond that you can use for organizations sake e.g. I have a tag for "amateursub" on my blog and link to that on my side menu with "tagged/amateursub".
